Solution/package Explorer and Connection Manager

Solution Explorer: This is where you can find all of your created packages, shared connctions, data source views, ad other miscellaneous files needed for the project.

Package Explorer: This is used to view all of the elements in a package: configurations, connctions, event handlers, log providers, presedence constraints, and variables. If a package contains adata flow task, the package explorer tab includes a node that contains a hierarchal view of the data flow components.


Connection Manager: Contains the data source connection string and other related properties. At package execution timme the connection manager manages the physical connectivity to data sources and destinations. Multiple tasks can share the same connection manager. Multiple tasks can use the same connection to the database.
